  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup green sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur optional
  • 1 lime zest of one lime
  • Chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans
  • Crushed mint candies or a few drops of peppermint extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk 2 cups flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  4. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add egg and vanilla extract; beat until combined.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients; mix until just incorporated.
  7. Add green food coloring to desired shade.
  8. Drop rounded scoops onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
  10. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Add sprinkles or icing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
