Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a round cake pan.
- Combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Tint the vanilla frosting with green food coloring to create a meadow-like base.
- Once the cake is completely cool, frost the entire cake with the green frosting.
- Arrange edible flowers on top of the cake to create a natural meadow design.
- Place butterfly sprinkles or edible butterfly decorations amongst the flowers.
- Optional: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs around the base of the cake to create a 'soil' effect.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving for an elegant finish.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, high-quality edible flowers. Ensure the cake is completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
