Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 1 box cake mix (vanilla or white)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
Frosting & Decoration
  • 1 container vanilla frosting
  • Gel food coloring various colors
  • Piping bags
  • Various piping tips e.g., petal tips, round tips
  • Sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  4. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Divide the frosting into several bowls and add gel food coloring to each bowl.
  6. Fill piping bags with the colored frosting and attach desired piping tips.
  7. Frost the cake with a base layer of white frosting and create flower designs on top.
  8. Add sprinkles, if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the frosting to set before serving.
