Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • Green food coloring
  • Green sprinkles or shamrock sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  6. Add green food coloring.
  7. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cut out cookies with shamrock cutters.
  9. Place cookies on baking sheets.
  10. Sprinkle with green sprinkles.
  11. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  12. Cool on baking sheets, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling out.
